Lux was my first pet, and she is my best friend to this day. I don't think there would be enough room on this page to type all that we've been through together. I can't remember/imagine life without her! I've done a lot of growing with her at my side, and we've had so many awesome, happy, and funny moments together. Besides that though, there are also many memories in our past that are painful, and I have quite a few regrets, and I've made a lot of mistakes. The wonderful thing about Lux is she still sleeps beside me :).
Lux is beautiful (wait until I upload good quality pics!). She's shy around strangers, but will tolerate them petting her, if she's being held by one of us. She's a quiet cat, unless she's hungry or getting a bath (she can YOWL). Lux loves catnip mice and oat grass, and likes to pounce on crinkly bags. She'll cuddle when she feels like it, but doesn't like to be held for a long time, or get rolled over on in bed. Lux can walk pretty well on a leash and harness, and will sit if I say "Manners!" ~_^.
Lux does not like dogs, but is more likely to attack them than be scared. Though she used to hunt, she is cautious of angry female rats! She is prone to go "crazy-cat" at any time. She's always interested if someone is looking under the stove, as she often bats her mice under there. She is an expert at detecting spiders, nothing will distract her from them. She will always take our seat when we get up. She has many things in common with me: we both hate all seafood but tuna and shrimp, we both like catnip mice, we both like sunbathing, we both like napping, we're both shy of strangers, we share the same July 7th birthday, and we both run very fast (which she taught me :P).
Lux is spayed, but she did have a litter of kittens when she was an outdoor cat. They were Alpha (girl), Nova (girl), and Mercedes (boy). We had to give them away when they were half-grown, and sadly have no photos of them. She had a sister named Stripe, who we took also, and a brother who we only glimpsed once. Her sister Stripe passed on, with her own litter of kittens, when she was only around two. What happened to Stripe is a very painful memory, and probably my biggest regret.

Lux lived for a time with her daughter Alpha, who we got back when she was full grown, and Lux's adopted kitten, Chewy, in our last apartment (before we left Kimberly). We had to give Alpha and young Chewy away before we moved. To this day, Lux feels instantly motherly to any kitten she may meet.
Lux has moved many times in her life, including a desperate move smuggled in and out of a duffel bag, when we were left homeless and had to move thousands of miles by bus. She still does not trust duffel bags.
So there are many mistakes I made with her as a young first time owner, but I've learned from them, and she is now a spayed indoor cat, settled in the city life. However, she's also had some fantastic adventures!
